My girlfriends favorite game in the world is mario kart. So for Christmas, I'm designing her a poster and having it printed. The problem is that I don't know which Mario Kart Logo to use in the poster. Here's the logo that's been used ever since Super Mario Kart (although in that version, the logo was silver):   And here's the logo that they introduced with Mario Kart DS:   Which should I use?

I think the DS one looks sleeker, but she'd probably enjoy the original more ^__^ I know that even though the newer pokemon games are sleeker, I enjoy the old ones far more just for the memories they bring back. So you should go old school  [/size]

Go for the original. Although the newer one is more up-to-standards in the design world, the older one will probably bring back old memories (sorry for simply restating what everyone else has said. )

Think of it like the Star Wars series. Despite what a lot of douchebag, hardcore fans will say, ALL of the movies were great movies. But as far as Star Wars goes, the BEST were undoubtedly the old ones. The originals. So even though the new ones are good as far as movies go, a true fan appreciates the originals far more.
That being said, the original logo should be the obvious choice. New logo looks great, but it's not nearly as iconic as the original.
